金沢市には、芸術上または観賞上の価値の高い庭園が多く存在しています。これらの日本庭園は、築山、植栽、池泉、石造物、建物などで構成され、市民生活、歴史、自然が一体となった総合芸術作品であり、また都市において生態系サービスを供給する基盤ともなっています。これらの生物文化多様性を保全継承していくためには、都市景観と生態系の両立に関わる庭園の管理や伝統的な造園技術の継承は大変重要な意味を持ちます。
金沢市の生物文化多様性を保全継承していくためにも、美とエコロジーの両立に関わる庭園の管理や伝統的な造園技術の継承がチャレンジであるといえます。
本清掃ボランティア茶会では、心蓮社庭園の清掃活動をして、お茶を楽しみながら今後の金沢での持続可能な庭園保全や市民参加のあり方を考えます。

In Kanazawa, there are many gardens of great value in terms of artistry and visual appreciation. These Japanese gardens consist of artificial hills, trees and plants, ponds, stone structures, buildings, and so on, and are comprehensive artistic creations that represent the citizens' lifestyles, history, and nature as one. They are also the foundations for providing ecosystem services in the city. In order to preserve and pass down the diversity of living culture, there is incredibly important meaning to the upkeep of the gardens and the passing down of landscape architecture skills with regard to the balance of city scenery and the ecosystem. At this get-together, participants will clean the Shinrensha garden which will be the venue, and think about sustainable preservation of gardens and how citizens can participate in Kanazawa in the future, while enjoying tea.
