喜八工房 KIHACHI KOBO Yamanaka Lacquer

塗師2代目喜八が明治15年に「喜八工房」として創業。「塗師屋商人」の先駆け。山中漆器のトップランナーとして、美しい佳品を作り続けてきた。伝統工芸山中漆器を次代に継ぐべく、地場産業の中で日夜精進している。

Second generation of lacquers of the Kihachi family. Founded the Kihachi Kobo atelier in 1882. Started as a painter and merchant. Supervised many beautiful Yamanaka lacquer works. They focus on local industries in order to ensure the continuation of their art-style.
