加賀百万石と高山右近~美意識の原点を探る~ Kaga Hyakumangoku and Takayama Ukon

秀吉のキリスト教迫害により流浪の身となった高山右近を受け入れたのは加賀藩だった。
前田利家・利長親子が茶の道の師と仰いだ千利休。
「利休七哲」に数えられる右近を客将として受け入れたのは当然のなりゆきだったに違いない。右近が加賀を去った後も、キリスト教徒に手厚い扱いを続けた加賀藩。
教徒の有田焼職人を招いたことが、古九谷焼の誕生につながっているとも言われている。右近は金沢城の普請だけでなく、いまにつながる加賀百万石文化の礎を築いたのだ。
高山右近の功績を思いめぐらしながら、金沢の工芸文化について語り合う夜にしたい。
